Huh seems people can not be happy supporting clubs that they have to attack other clubs, thats pretty low. Even though Everton are overachieving.
Started this thread to discuss Liverpool games with other fans who have critical views, there is a 19 reasons thread and a signings thread, so I thought I'd have a general thread.
Liverpool capable of winning this season's premier league? I'll eat my hat if that happens!

Torres's goal was superbly taken (great pass from Stevie G too). As for the penalty...well, the ref's been stood down this week, so enough said.
Kuyt has looked excellent - what an engine. Quite like the look of Babel too. Not so sure about Pennant - what do you guys think? Two yellows in two games isn't a great start...
pennants fine hes got a nice whip on his cross that is deadly imho. i cant belive a arsenal fan thinks livepool has no chance for a title. lol look at your self mate arsenal are a joke. at least liverpool are usaly 3rd behind chelsea and man u and arseanl are 4th and sometimes even behind tottenham. liverpool are a team when playing to there best will beat anywone else at their best. they have that much class, thats why they do good in 1 off games but over a hole year they dont have the consistacy to win the title. go riise, gerrard, torres, kuyt, babel and alosno
There is no doubt Liverpool have strengthened this year. Torres is a formidible talent as you are beginning to see. The ability to use either Pennant or Babel as shock troops and crossers of the ball is a great assett. The midfield is looking strong also with the return of Sissoko and Gerrards current top form. Defence wise is sound too. I do believe this is a season for Liverpool. Chelsea are in more turmoil than appears on the surface - the departure of Robben is significant as I am not yet convinced that some of their individually talented players can gell for tough encounters. Man U will be better than right now but a repeat of last year is unlikely with some players not on form. Arsenal will again be crowd pleasers without quite being able to ac hieve conistency. There is also now a good pack of "next best" teams like Everton, Spurs, Newcastle, possibly the new Man City, Villa on a good day etc who will be harder to beat than last year.
Mana Whenua o Ngati Toa
Yup, looking pretty good so far.
I reckon the Kuyt/Torres combo up front will only get better as the season progresses.
Babel and Voronin look pretty solid as well, and Pennant/Risse have been doing OK pushing it up the flanks.
It's gonna be a lot closer within the top 4 this season from the looks of things. Early days yet, but looks hopeful.

Don't get me wrong risse is one of my fav players but i have to say he could pass it a bit more rather than going goal.( but his goals are some of the best )
Sutherland tonight no gerrard but we still have the goods to win.
i would like to see that young brazilian lucas get a bit of game time tonight also like to see that babel starting to night
what do you guys thinkkickarse2007-08-25 19:17:58
YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE
Indeed, it is abhorrent and downright offensive. You ought to be ashamed of yourself for posting something this dispicable.

Mmmm Torres was OK, be good if he finished off some of his goals, but good display none the less. Pennant was really good, and so been Liverpool's best player this season. Voronin did well but went missing a bit. I'm never comfortable when Momo is on the ball, but he scored.
May need to bring in another Center back before window closes, Carragher could be out for a while and will need cover. Paletta was good in pre-season not sure if he's good enough (yet?)
Carra was really pissed off with Rafa
I was looking forward to seeing Voronin and Torres start together and I thought they paired up well. Shame Voronin kept hitting it straight at the keeper, could have had a hat trick. Good to see both new strikers off the mark in the PL already and they're still settling in.
Good to see we can play without Stevie. Momo played the role pretty well, even scored a Stevie-like goal. BTW, it was Liverpools 7000th league goal.
Babel was quiet but showed he's got some skill, if he can develop and play like Pennant then we'll be deadly.
No official word yet on Carra or Sami and we're a bit light there as Paletta has just been sold to Boca Juniors. Arbeloa can play middle though if we need him to.
Illegitimi non carborundum
I always thought we needed another center back even before Carragher's injury, Hyypia isn't badly injured so he should partner Agger against Toulouse. Still maybe we should sign a veteran on a short term. Or put some faith in a young defender, but there only seems to be only Jack Hobbs in the reserves.
Yup, I don't think he'll get many starts, but probably play off the bench quite a bit. The way Torres and Vorinon plays suits the more attacking, through-ball style than the big crosses into the centre. I always thought that we were becoming far to reliant on those sorts of tactics anyway.
Torres has heaps of pace, like when he burst through the middle of Sunderlands defence and almost scored, and Voronins goal shows he's got the touches to complement an attacking style (that inside cut was class).
Between Torres, Kuyt and Voronin, we've got the potential for some pretty devastaing attacking football. When Rafa settles on the right combination, I doubt very much that Crouch will be part of it...

"The referee a w**ker"
WHAT !!!!!!!!!!
You were totally outplayed for 90 minuites and Agger shoukld have been sent off for attacking Malouda with his arse.
Football.....The Beautiful Game
To keep Chris Killen company on the bench?
